Day 27-30 – 8/28 – 8/31 Newport Beach House
These past few days have been very relaxing. The Hosts of the house I’m staying in returned for the week and I hung out with them, friends and neighbors before they leave again for a couple of weeks. This will give me an opportunity to go to some of the places that don’t allow dogs. On the 30th a neighbor took me on a hike from the beach to Communications Hill (a peninsula that allows for views of both South and North Newport). The next day we went on a very nice hike through the forest that started from Agate beach and continued east for 2 miles with lush vegetation and marshland. And, finally, I took a nice photo of a Cooper’s Hawk that spent a bit of time chasing a brown squirrel around a large pine tree. For a fleeting second he stopped and took a look at me, to see if I was a threat to him, then, when realizing I’m not, continued his pursuit. The squirrel eventually got away.
